We strive to make one of a kind creations, tailoring each order to fit the specific needs and visions of the customer. From color selection, to graphic, to embellishments, our customers select and approve everything before we begin creating.
Recently, we had a customer contact us wanting A Nightmare Before Christmas wreath. She was getting married in coming weeks, and also wanted her new last name's initial displayed prominently on the wreath. Neither of us at 3cousincrafts had seen A Nightmare Before Christmas, so we quickly did a google search to help envision the theme for this wreath.
With the help of the customer, we decided on a black, white, and purple color scheme for the wreath. The customer's favorite characters are Jack and Sally and wanted to somehow incorporate them into the wreath. We again turned to google for help, and soon found custom Jack and Sally ribbon on Esty.
With the ribbon in hand, our joined vision of the wreath became clear! The tulle on the wreath would be black and white stripped, with the large whimsical monogram done in purple glitter. The Jack and Sally ribbon would be used to create a large bow at the top, creating the main focal feature of the wreath.
Once the foam was wrapped with the tulle, we began creating the glittery monogram. This is a painstaking slow task, as the letter has to be painted with glue and then glitter applied by hand. All sides of the letter were coated and covered, and then coated and covered again, with drying time in between, The end result is pretty amazing though - and it was certainly a one-of-a-kind whimsical letter!
The ribbon posed a challenge. It was 1" thick grosgrain and alone would not produce a large enough bow to top this wreath and make a statement. We found wider, wire-edged black and white ribbon (in a subtle pattern that would not detract from the Jack and Sally ribbon) and then hot glued the Jack and Sally ribbon down the center of the black and white ribbon. This created a wide ribbon to make a centerpiece bow for the top of the wreath.
Overall, this wreath was one of the more labor intensive that we have completed, but also one of our favorites!
